London City Airport Voted Greenest Airport

The London Paper recently audited London’s five main airports for their green credentials and announced that London City is the capital’s greenest airport. The newspaper analysed everything from stacking levels to baggage buggies in its research and found that London City performed well in almost all areas. 

Particular praise went to the airport for its policy of not stacking aircraft in the air, for its work monitoring emissions, and of course for the fact that it specialises in handling smaller, more environmentally friendly aircraft. The airport was also praised for its excellent transport links, with 61 percent of passengers arriving on public transport – the highest proportion of any London airport.
