bmi increase availability during BA Strikes

bmi is adding extra seats to destinations during the forthcoming series of BA strikes and putting in place a number of goodwill measures to help BA customers.

The first strike is planned to begin on 18 May, ending on 22 May, with three further strikes beginning on 24 May, 30 May and 5 June.

Help for BA customers:

• BA Gold and Silver Executive Club members travelling with bmi over the strike dates will be given complimentary access to bmi's lounges, including The Great British Lounge – their flagship lounge at Heathrow
• BA Executive Club members will also be offered a status match into our Diamond Club programme (e.g. gold to gold, silver to silver) and benefit from double miles on all bmi travel until the end of June
• BA customers on connecting journeys on separate tickets with other carriers, subject to minimum connection times, will be permitted by bmi to through check their baggage during a BA strike (subject to airport operations on the day)
• bmi will honour the BA original baggage allowance if the customer has been re-accommodated on a strike day onto a bmi flight.
